Sultan Of Johore Wants It Back!

My feelings mingled with excitement, pleasure, sad and relief due to fact that the Sultan Of Johore Sultan Iskandar Ismail has vowed to find numerous ways in order to reclaim Batu Puteh or Pedra Branca.

Sultan Iskandar said he wanted to remind all that he had not forgotten his island and that it was rightfully under the state’s sovereignty and not Singapore.

On May 23, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled that Singapore had sovereignty over the disputed Batu Puteh or Pedra Branca, while Malaysia owned Middle Rocks. Read the rest of this entry »

ISU 4 LANGKAH MERINGANKAN BEBAN RAKYAT

PAS Should Read The Judgment First!

After the government of Malaysia loss to Singapore regarding the claim pertaining to Pulau Batu Putih/Pedra Branca, PAS alleged that it was caused by lack of preparation by the AG’s Chamber, resulted to lose of the island.

PAS should have realized that Singapore has a strong case before they entered the ICJ. i am not agree if PAS saying that the defeat was caused by Malaysian team, but actually we had loss the island since 1953, when State Secretary of Johore sent a letter to Singapore’s government where he agreed to bypass the island to British’s Government in Singapore. singapore or malaysia?

Malaysia to reclaim Pedra Branca? Will Malaysia or Singapore win in the court tussle over a overlapping claim for an islet the size of a football field in the South China Sea?Both governments are crossing swords at the International Court of Justice in The Hague in the Netherlands to settle ownership of Pedra Branca (itsname to Singapore) or Pulau Batu Putih(according to Malaysia). So far, media of the the two countries, which used to be one nation briefly in the 1960s, have backed their political masters.

Malaysia’s The Star cited the Foreign Minister as saying that the team was the one Malaysia sent to handle the sovereignty dispute over Pulau Sipadan and Pulau Ligitan which Malaysia won over Indonesia. Malaysia’s New StraitsTimes reiterated the country’s stand that Malaysia was not making a claimover the island as it was always part of her territory.Singapore’s The Straits Times said Singapore has exercised sovereignty and administered the island since the 1840s, when the British colonial government built the Horsburgh Lightho use there. And Singapore is likely to depend on similar arguments used by Malaysia in its successful claim over Indonesia in the fight for Sipadan and Ligatan, two islands to the east of Borneo, five years ago. Malaysia won because it had effectively exercised state functions over the two islands. Read the rest of this entry »
