Answers To Those Who Says UMNO is not Islam

I received one letter from someone and the letter contains several explaination of some details which was spoken by Pas Spiritual Leader Tuan Guru Nik Aziz Nik Mat. The letter clarified that Nik Aziz was right in his justification to claim UMNO for pursuiting the same liberation as Ayah Pin and communist.

The letter also did justified the invitation made by TGNA to have a open debate with UMNO to show UMNO the correct path which was supposedly be brought up by that party in it’s fight for Islam and Malays. I would like to thank the writer of the letter but I am sorry because I don’t have much time to reply back in a same manner, but to have its to be written in this blog is the most affordable thing I can do.

I will reply and I try my best to put foward my argument in the most academic ways in relation to the letter’s substance.

UMNO is a secular party

Before it’s establishment, no political movement or party which seeks for the interest of the Malays. Of course there are many, but UMNO has united them to become a one single voice who speaks for the Malays. We are aware of the early establishment of this country, where Islam is not being regarded as something compulsary in the lifestyle of the people.

But after years and decades, the form is likely to change a little bit, and Islam has become more sensitive topic to be discussed, and more precautionary steps taken by Muslim professors against any bad intention to harm Islam. TGNA is not fair to judge UMNO as simple as that (secular, kafir, whatsoever ), because if he could see the motion of UMNO’s agenda is tend to moving towards Islamic’s shape slowly and slowly, day by day.

Is Malaysia not Islamic enough?

Many of the PAS leaders, they don’t observe their surrounding very carefully. They accused UMNO to have neglet Islam behind in it’s administration. I am in a total agreement with the writer of the letter that we must implement a total hudud and qisas law, and until that we can’t claim ourselves as a Muslim nation.

This is the complicated part. To implement Hudud, it needs a revolutionary changes of the constitution itself. It needs to pass all the barriers, and some opinion states that a revolutionary changes is not allowed to be applied to the constitution as this will violates the supremacy of the constitution.

Who cares about the violation part? If men can legislate the law, why can’t men amend the law, right?

It is not as easy as ABC, Pas. Even some of the PR states government are having trouble dealing with their administration already, believe it or not, we are talking about changing our law based doctrine. This is big. And this cannot be done in a blink of an eye.

Is Malaysia not Islamic enough? Just I have stated earlier, Pas leaders seem to be ignorant of their surroundings. The law upholds Islam optimumly, within their capacity, Pas. Just look at the Federal Constitution, what article 3 and article 121 1A say about our Religion and our courts. The courts were separated just to protect Islam and upholds the holy religion to the highest stage.

There are many affirmative action taken by the government to protect the supremacy of Islam “silently”, for instance the Herald’s application to use the word Allah, just to avoid confusion among un-educated Muslim despite the fact that Allah is translated as God in Arabic language. But why on earth the Malaysian Christian want to use Arabic term to describe Allah only, why not use it universely?

These are all protections that are being imposed by the government “silently”. The apostacy issue. The government realize that we cannot stop apostacy. Therefore the government has decided to limit all apostacy application to the Syariah courts before approval is given, just to “stop” apostacy from becoming recklessly activated among the Muslim.

The judiciary also did lend a hand to uphold Islam in this country. This has been proven in the case of Lina Joy. Article 160 of the Federal Constitution defines Malay as a Muslim. Therefore it is to be noted that A Malays is defined as Muslim and thus they cannot convert into other religion or else their status will not be acknowledged by the state.

See, the government is trying everything to uphold Islam. The government cannot controls the akidah of the people, but they are trying their best to regulate them through the implementation of the law. Just because hudud is not implemented, UMNO and the government was accused to have neglet the Islam in this country. This is not fair.

PAS always wants to become Champion of Islam

I accept the fact that UMNO is not ready yet to implement Hudud and Qisas. I have no denial on that. Until Hudud and Qisas is implemented, we cannot claim that this is a Muslim Land. But having said that, what PAS has to offer if UMNO really wants to implement the Hudud law?

Is PAS ready to break up their coalition bond with their DAP and PKR members? Even “Kerajaan Perpaduan” proposal was stucked in between DAP and PKR’s strong arm. Where is the voice of PAS?

Instead of asking UMNO to discuss about the Hudud implementation, why Pas always wants to become champion by asking for a debate? Debate means at the end of it, we shall have a winner and a loser. That is why I said Pas always wants to show that they are more Islam than UMNO in every sense they went through. The question is what are the benefits and why would they always like fighting?

I am waiting answers from Pas commentors. But as usual they will never accept any fact which did not favour them, where as I always critisize UMNO if the party went wrong on it’s movement, I am disappointed with certain PAS supporters which are too “taksub” to their liberations and their leaders especially TGNA.

I have seen many posters showing TGNA crying when he recites prayers.
