Speaking up the truth and unraveling the lies to make Malaysia a better place

One Single Party: Are We Ready?

Lately there has been a lot of suggestion came from many political leaders from BN’s component parties, wanted that a huge revolution of BN system to be done quickly in order to regain the support back from the people. PPP President Datuk M.Kayveas recently voiced for it, before it was endorsed and supported by the Gerakan’s delegates in their recent AGM.

One single party, perhaps can be described as two party system, where the people will have only two choices either two choose party A or B. This system has been used in many moderate and advanced country such as the Unites States. They have Republican and Democrats.

In Malaysia, we are using the racial based party since our independece, which brings along all voices represented by each component party, for their interest of the people. But today, many of us feel that this system is no longer relevant. If we were to impose the one party system, these are the facts that we need to consider. Who will become the President and in what ways the president qualifies to get elected? Will the new president preserve and defend the constitution without fear and favour? And will there be a conflict in electing the President and his successor since the party now consist of all different races?

Let get thing straight. Let us see ourselves as Malaysian, not Malay, Chinese or Indian. I personally admire on what is going in the US nowadyas. Whether it could be applied in Malaysia, I leave it to the Malaysians to decide. When will we end our racial disgust? When will we stop accusing others as greed or squatters, or racist whatsoever?

A new Prime Minister, should not seek goodies for his own race. This is because the Prime Minister of Malaysia represent all skin colour and races in Malaysia. He must stand up for Malaysia, not Chinese, Malay or Indian. He, by all means must defend the constitution that has been bestowed by our forefathers. He must think as he thinks fit, to help the handicaps and poor people, finding solutions to end the poverty and corruption. He must also possess a good track record. Whether he is Malay or Chinese, he must obey the needs and nots stated above for the sake of the country. This is a desirable Prime Minister of the new single party, if we were to proceed with this notion.

The problem is, we keep on pointing negative perception against other races. We already have that mindset, cultivated by our parents. Discrimination in private sectors goes on and on. The privilages granted amount to abuse of power, and more racist statement being made day by day.

If we are still playing within this compound, lets forget the one single party system. It is hopeless when you expect people to change their attitude by imposing such political policy, but nevertheless, the change must come from their very own heart. I doubt if we were to invoke this one-party system, it may look good on the surface, but nothing changed inside.

of course we should unite as one single party… no doubt.. it was helpless when people let their ego and emotion conquer their brain not mind, which made us different from other creatures

    Hi

Dun see how it will work if the other parties are not dissolved.
I mean will this direct membership party have its own elections? Or will the exco also be formed by leaders of the component parties like the Barisan supreme council?
    Sounds like supporters club-lah.
    Do, do properly lah.
Dun be like IPCMC, now become SCC.
    Single party, become supporters club.

are going to follow US style, 2 parties, demo n repub? are we ready?

i hope if we did, malays wont become red indians like in the US.

  5. rudy says:

Not ready. We have not yet achived integration like other countries e.g Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore or even USA. Reason why? WE are taught to be polarised since chilhood days when we have Chinese Schools, Tamil Schools and Naktional Schools and polarity continues till now. How could we achieve when we are not studying in same school? WE do not see this in our neighboring countries or even higly developed countries like US and Europe. So, to have 1 single party will create lots of unhapiness, dissatisfactions among members and definetlty will not work.

There’s a lot of barriers, but it’s not impossible. The main question is.. how Malay can give and take in bumiputera’s interest? how Malay will accept PM from other races? how to have fair composition in administration role?

I do believe it is not the existence of Single/Two Party system that causes problems. It is the abuse of them that causes the problem.

Almost anything can be abused, overused and eventually overwhelming. It is abuse, not use, that they must focus on.

I think that abuse results from lack of moral values, integrity and work ethic.

And I hope it applies to many situations, not only Constitution, but all kinds of adversity in our country/Malaysia.

im kinda agree with sam.. only the sellfish people will ruin everything. in order to achieve something, something have to be sacrifice.. sometimes the sacrifice are not worth compare to what we got.. but the forgot to calculate future interest.. that are something more valuable
