Speaking up the truth and unraveling the lies to make Malaysia a better place

Impose ISA To Anwar, Problem Solved?

Anwar, the power chaser recently signed the media that many of the Chinese leaders from BN would jump to his party to enable him to form the new government based on simple majority in parliament. If MCA were to leave the Barisan, I dare say that it will change our political culture drastically and lead to the county’s political damage.

A country with a multi-racial society like Malaysia needs a mix in order to have a peaceful environment for everyone. So, to have all Chinese-based parties going to the opposition and only Malay-based parties in the ruling coalition would definitely create more tension for the country, which is bad for business and the economy. MCA has form a crutial part of Malaysian politics in the sense that they represent a sole Chinese party. This system has proven to be effective, where party represent their own race, and agree upon any matter via consensus between them. Frankly speaking, this system is favouring us and has contribute to this country’s stability.

If Pak Lah has become the liability to UMNO, Anwar has become the liability to Malaysia. I am totally agree if Anwar has now becoming a threat to national security and economy. Anwar’s left-handed movement has cause the country on stake. He confidently said previously that the present government will cease to hold effect since he will take over the federal government on 16 of September. But nothing happened. Now he put on a new date, and hesitates the country’s economic development.

This will induced the FDI of our country, and the investors becoming more afraid to roll on their money. For safety purposes, they prefer to wait and see until our economic get stable. This will eventually destroy our economic. Considering the current stake of American stock exchange, which are now struggling to live, I am sure we will feel the heat and effect after several months. Politics and economic goes side by side. Lanslide of politics will bring the economy down.

Why are now people are againsting this act? Why? Is it because it is now aiming for the oppositions? After 51 years this act has secure our country’s peace, just because of one man’s factor, people want to get rid of this act. Did they stood the same thing when this act was imposed to Jemaah Islamiah, KMM, and Al-Ma’unnah? Come on, be fair to the people. Donot drowned by the ideas that this act has violated the fundemental liberties of the people, but think of the consequences caused by those protestors to our country’s stability. Which is more important?

As to whether Anwar has become a threat to the national security, I leave it to the police. ISA has been critisized harshly therefore any action to impose this act in the future must undergo a very detail and precise measurement. By all means, this act must stay. Its original objective is to prevent any person who was believed to cause national threat and disharmony to the country. Though it looks like to be applied to the terrorist, in certain cases, it can be applied to anybody too in which the person was believed to cause national threat, without considering his/her background, whether he/she comes from any political party or organization. Its not fair for us to prevent this act from politician. Even if he is a politician, but if he has satisfies the qualification of causing a threat to the national security, we must take him down.

This is just a piece of my estimation as I am not inducing any party to impose the ISA to anyone. But if my country is on stake of fear, I take no fear to act within my capacity as a citizen of Malaysia.

sid, i believe that ISA is important than anything else to ensure the stability in the country. But it’s a matter how it’s being used. Is ISA open for abuse?

  3. Dr.Sid says:

As long as the law made by the people, it is a law to be abused by the people.

But ISA should be seen in more wider perspective, and not only focusing on the fundemental liberties of certain individual, but the country’s stability is much more important.

  4. Piggy Singh says:

    Salam Doc,

I think Anwar prefers to be detained under ISA, rather than being humiliated in court with the sodomy case.

If he is detained under ISA, another political mileage to gain. Since ISA lately has not been dear to the public, Anwar or PKR will definitely claim that he is a victim of injustice, to stop him from taking over because “he’s now got the number”.

So imposing ISA on Anwar will add more spice to Anwar’s non stop drama.

    Wassalam.

I’m seriously sick & tired of the M’sian political drama which seems to be from bad to worst none of it that benefits ppl like us .. the whole world is going to collapse (economy) and here our leaders are fighting for positions .. what on earth are they thinking?!

Even whomever becomes the PM, does it matter any more when the whole economy, the country’s stability, the system is gone, kapish! .. then the finger pointing wil start and the drama will never end .. and how about us? the citizens of Malaysia .. we have more rights than any of this stupid heartless politicians as we lived in it!

The country is like our house, I simply dun wan anyone to stroll in, wrecked it and leave as & when they like .. halooo .. ITS MY HOUSE! Dun they (politicians) get it! They’re just merely being assigned by us to run the country not run our lives. Just like pak guard! That’s it .. except a little more responsibility and being paid by our $$$$ … IT’S OUR MONEY!!!!

I love my country! And definitely won’t allow some psycho to run it .. definitely a NO! A BIG NO! NEVER! ..

ISA should stay. it was there with a purpose. i don’t understand some of our malaysian compatriot. i believe they are being screwed by this so call democracy callings by anwar and his brainless associates. even the so call democratic usa has their patriot act, for security purpose, so why are we complaining about ISA, unless you have something else in mind, like anwar. guys, just forget about this anwar, too much time lost because of his antics, he just need a mother. pity him….he is out of his mind now..

  11. charlie says:

Malaysia will not progress as long as ISA is here to stay.

  12. efy says:

yup.. Malaysia was at peace until he was discharged.. i believe ISA should remain in Malaysia.. Singapore also has dis kind of law but but no one question it.. but y Malaysia?? ISA is not a problem to d Malaysians unless he has d mala fide intention to create chaos in Malaysia.. Anwar will bring down our country.. i never believe him n will never…

Believe me, he’ll never b d hero of d Malay nor chinese nor indian nor others.. his face full of hatred..

  13. Dr.Sid says:

charlie, if you say so, ISA has been there for almost 48 years, but we still competent enough in term of economics and technology. and we was before in a stable country. the present chaos caused by those ambitious politician and certain people of interest. ISA never cause us any political and economic disfunctionality. it is a shield to protect the national security.

  14. daddytot says:

charlie, i don’t get it when you said malaysia will not progress if ISA stays. please look around, usa, singapore, it seems all countries have this kind of act but with different names. and you didn’t question them, no body bothers, but why you are so concern about ISA, unless it affect you. i don’t think so, unless you are thinking of doing something that can affect the security and stability. to progress, we need commitment, desire, etc….and stability. to be stable, we need control. isa is just a tool to control, only if not being abused.

  15. Dr Qiddis says:

yup isa is a just a tool to control, if there no control, it will be more worse

  16. harizhussein says:

your thought was very good. i like your writing sir.

  17. Mim's says:

hariz, I agree with you. Dr. Sid looks at things from a different perspective, to me it’s more productive & positive similar thinking to Tun .. I must admit.

And pls keep the ISA, we’ve been having it for so long and we’re just okay! Just like when you buat kacau in school you’ll be sent to detention .. so what difference is it? You have to pay for your irresponsible actions … You even punish your kids when they cause trouble don’t you?

Sometimes with greed & power, we human tends to get overboard at the expense of others. And that’s not fair! I hope Anwar will be sent far far away from earth .. Actually, he doesn’t belong anywhere, tau buat kacau jer! Causing more damage than good and we’ll be sold onced he steps in as PM .. no longer an Independant country .. trust me!

  23. Pak Janggut says:

Tun Mahathir Mohamad should not be left out of ISA dragnet too. Let him stay in the solitary confinement side by side with Anwar Ibrahim so that both of them can continue their good fight in Kamunting Detention Camp. Of course, Raja Petra Kamarudin can be the referee who will decide who wins in the “Mahathir versus Anwar” debate! Then all of us can loudly shout “Hidup Dato Sri Syed Hamid Albar!” Let’s join together to turn the bolehland into ISA land! Let noone become the only sane man in ISA land except Dato Sri Syed Hamid Albar. “Dato Sri Syed Hamid Albar boleh!” “UMNO boleh!” “Melayu boleh!” “Malaysia boleh!”

  24. En. Anonymous says:

There is a very simple solution to all this. It should be made breathtakingly clear by the authorities to Anwar Ibrahim that either one of two things is going to happen:

    1. On October 13, Anwar Ibrahim will succeed in obtaining a vote of no-confidence and he will assemble his new government

    or failing that,

    2. On October 13 if his “no confidence” vote does not succeed, he will be detained immediately afterward under ISA and kept until he is no longer a problem.

It’s “put up or shut up” time for Anwar Ibrahim. Actually, 916 was “put up or shut up” time for him. But if he fails in his “vote of no confidence” on October 13, the constant disruptions of the political process and of the economy resulting from his political shenanigans must be halted at once.

  25. onenation says:

Dr. Sid, you say “his system has proven to be effective, where party represent their own race, and agree upon any matter via consensus between them.”

You are wrong. The system SEEMED effective. All opposing voices were quashed before it could see the light of day.

Consensus? What consensus? UMNO tells the other component parties to jump, and the respond they get is “how high”.

Is Anwar is a problem? I don’t know. Is Pak Lah a problem? I don’t know either. I do know Pak Lah is incapable. Thanks to him … Malaysia is going thru a phase of redefining itself. It’s time to look beyond the color of your skin … it’s time to stand up as One Nation.

  26. Moloch says:

Anwar a threat to national security?Reminds me of one speech by Anwar at the School of Advanced International Studies 2005 title “The United States and the Muslim World”.
“In the case of Iraq, the war, and I dont mean to be candid here, has yielded the country’s first democratic elections. In this regard, I make no bones about my opposition to the war as a matter of principle, but I am not ashamed to concede that the voices of freedom in Iraq are now finding expression.”
Tell that to the 1267401 innocent dead Iraqis. So its ok if Iraq remains the world’s dangerous place as long as the voices of freedom can be heard.

    Dear Dr.
I am agree to on the certain part but not all. What is the problem to have a strong opposition ? Even in developed country they have at lease two strong different political party. Just look into Democrat and Republican in USA. So, by using ISA to the opposing political party is very unhealthy to the development of our country.

I think we a over reacting to the current political situation in Malaysia because this is the 1st time we have a strong opposition. So just let the process flows and reserve the use of ISA only to terrorist.

I think, what happened to our economy is nothing to do with Mr. Anuar. Good or bad economy, its all due to the present government.

  34. Pak Janggut says:

    Dr. Siddiq,

I think Syed Hamid Albar should also include your name in the ISA arrest list. The reasons are quite simple:
    1) If you are a true doctor, your talking about nonsense here with poor English which is full of grammatical error has already spoilt the national image of Malaysia and therefore you have posed threat to the national economy of Malaysia. When the prospective foreign students who plan to do their further study in Malaysia find that Malaysia’s education system only produces doctor like you who only has a bad command of English, they will hold back their decision of coming to Malaysia and will turn to go other country which possesses higher educational standards like Singapore or Australia. Therefore Dr. Siddiq you are a real threat to our economy.
    2) If you are a fake doctor, then your sheer cheating behaviour will justify the Police’s detaining you under ISA because you talk nonsense here with poor English but it may mislead foreigners that Malaysia is only a underdeveloped country since you have given people a wrong perception that Malaysia can only produce a half past six doctor like you who only shows such a poor standards of educational quality of Malaysia!

Then you shall have a chance to taste your own piss in the ISA detention camp!

    Dear Dr. Sid,
Enjoyed reading your article. True enough this Anwar should be kept under ISA, he is really a nuisance to the country. he is a selfish gay who dreams of being a PM even when he is wide awake. Really don’t ubderstand why our foolish PM let him out last time & now what happened Anwar is biting him back. Yes, your English is okay, I think that fellow Pak Janggut is a clown himself.

Continue writing but be cautious of what you write to avoid being detained by ISA.

Mak Janggut sudah naik marah! Mungkin malam nak tidur senyap sunyi pun susahlah!

  40. Pak Janggut says:

    Mak Janggut dan Anak Janggut,

Kamu semua orang mestilah belajar al-Quran bersungguh-sungguh.

    ISA melawan prinsip al-Quran
    Lau Weng San | May 26, 08 9:54pm

Sebab ketiga: ISA mencaburi prinsip hak asasi manusia.

“That there are clear violations of human rights by invoking the ISA and other draconian legislation is an understatement.

The misery that these executive laws have brought upon individuals have left a clear message: there is a state of confusion in the real, accepted meaning of the phrase ‘prejudicial to the security of Malaysia.’

The meaning of this phrase which is thematic in the ISA as well as under Articles 149 and 150 of the Constitution is systematically left to the discretion of the executive.” (p. 293-4)

Even if Dr Siddiq is a fake doctor, he is not practising medicine here. So what’s the problem here. Are having too much of telur and cucumber?

A little bit history lesson may do justice in your opinion. Such detentions were also practiced during the era of Abbasid caliphs. So can we say the caliphs were not Islamic though they were reading Arabic.

I wonder if you are a muslim, because you prefer the intepretation of the holy Quran by non-muslim. You can simply pick any versus here and there to you benefit, and interprete according to your appetite.

sebenarnya orang melayu, cina pun macam tu, tengok indonesia.melayu la tu, kelam kabut juga.Bangsa cina, saya tak tau la nak bandingkan bengan negara mana, tanah besar china atau taiwan kot atau singapore yang ada isa tu, ala lu orang pikirlah sediri.

You should also read RPK’s articles about Islam, so again please read, read, read. Jgn jadi bodoh kayu.

  45. Pak Janggut says:

In many occasions, ISA had been invoked not because of prevention purpose in order to preserve the national security or to ensure availability of important service such as hospitalisation service during war or natural calamities. ISA had been misused in order to curb voices of dissidents or dissenters. In other words, if the Home Minister does not like you because you call him Botak, then the Home Minister may send you to Kamunting Detention Camp. This is a crime. This crime is called “Misuse of Power” under the Anti-Corruption Act. The best way to prevent happening of such a “misuse of power” is to repeal ISA so that the Home Minister or the Police National Chief shall never be vested with too much power which is beyond the control of the Prime Minister. PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said that he never gave instruction to detain Teresa Kok or Tan Hoon Cheng under the ISA. The PM’s comment clearly showed that the Malaysian Government’s power grips are not vested only in one hand of the PM. If the PM is to lose control on the Home Minister or on the Police National Chief, then Malaysia will be subject to high risk exposure from possible insurgence started by ambitious facist elements in the Federal Government. Therefore the best way to prevent the uncontrollable misuse of power in the helm of Police power is to repeal the ISA.

pak janggut ni menyamar je, ckp pun macam pandai sangat macam lawyer india, klu tngok org nya tang dahi mungkin ada putu warna merah, sbb bermati-matian sokong hindraf macam anwar menari ikut gendang india masa by-election di Ijok, terus menulis Dr.Sid pedulikan org mcm pak janggut, kita nk hidup dlm aman, pada pandangan saya masyarakat Malaysia hidup aman damai, cuma ahli politik yg porak perandakan kaum, tengok sekeliling pasar ramadhan, shopping complex aman saja, melayu, cina, india, singh, mat salleh semua boleh brselisih bahu dan senyum, tp klu letak org politik tengah2 habis jd perkauman. ISA memang di perlukan untuk kestabilan, apa nk takut kalau tak buat salah, samalah kalau jd penjenayah tengok polis pun takut, klu boleh jangan ada polis, cuma org yg ada agenda tertentu saja yg bantah, anwar melenting bila Datuk Sri Rais kata dia agen amerika, klu x de angin masakan pokok bergoyang, pembaca tengok sendiri di http://anwaribrahimdotcom.bolgspot.com dlm you tube siapa anwar? (siri 8), pikir la sendiri.

  49. Pak Janggut says:

    Kak Din,

In a family, a father is the leader and to control the family for the benefit of family members sometimes the father has to use veto power. Similarly to the country whereby ISA is applicable to the recent and current scenario.

if the Home Minister does not like you because you call him Botak, then the Home Minister may send you to Kamunting Detention Camp. This is a crime….
What kind of argument is this….
The opposition leader had been using bad words to even the PM and nobody is been arrested..In fact all this gang deserve it ( ISA detention )they create havoc in this country.
The article you are promoting here are just looking at the right of the YB pls also look at the right of other people which is also the citizen/tax payer of these country.
I ask you and those who are against the ISA especially the DAP’S, go and criticize ISA in Singapore, let see who is still ‘walking tall’.
DSAI had been in the government for 10 years and during his tenure a few of opposition leader had been arrested under ISA but he dare to voice out.Indeed Zaid Ibrahim is much..much
    braver than him.
So,be responsible citizen, don’t break the law and everybody is happy.

  52. charlie says:

Dr Sid, when you said “we still competent enough in term of economics and technology”, who do you compare to?

By the way, I thought we are talking about politic here, so how to progress when the government use it to curb the oppposition voice? Why we want to keep an Act which is subject to abuse?

It is not true when some said nobody question or no one bother in other countries with ISA. For example, Singapore peoples do question about ISA but not as loud as Malaysian. That is because Spore last used ISA on a politician was in 1966. In recent years, it applies to terrorists.

In Malaysia, ISA is multi-purpose, it can even be used against journalist and bloggers as long as the governemnt feels that the fellow poses threat to national security? This is abused of power and diverted from the original purpose of using ISA againts terrorism. It has becomes a convenient tool to suppress opposing voice.

Some said I seems to be concerned about ISA. Of course I do because I “blog”.

You are safe now doesn’t mean you will be spared for the rest of your life. Furthermore, we should not voice out something only when it “affect” us, by the time is too late. The next government may think that you are the “threat to national security”. Do you have a chance to defend yourself? Don’t forget the government also another powerful weapon call Sedition Act.
The government think that what RPK said are not true, just prove it. Don’t have to lock him up and let those allegations pending.

  54. Pak Janggut says:

    Joke about Malaysian Politics

    Boy: Dad, what’s Malaysian politics?

Dad: Let me set an example with our family. I have all the power to punish with such a family rule like “Inhouse Safety Agreement” (ISA) between you and I, so we’ll call me the Home Minister. Mom receives most of the benefits like peace and calm after I have punished you so we’ll call her the government. We’ll call the maid the silent commoner, you are the vocal people, and your baby brother is the future. Do you understand now son?

Boy: I still don’t understand dad.

Dad: Think about it for a while son.

That night the boy wakes up because his baby brother is crying. He goes in and finds out his baby brother has soiled his diapers. He goes to tell his mom but she’s asleep. Then he goes into the maid’s room but she is in there having sex with his dad. He bangs on the door but no one can hear him.

    The next day…

Son: Dad I understand Malaysian politics now.

Dad: Good, explain it to me in your own words, son.

Son: The Home Minister is screwing the silent commoner while the government’s falling asleep. The vocal people are being ignored and the future is full of SHIT!

Dr.Saddiq’s blog this time is quiet interesting and very polemic .Even thoug Tok Janggut looked down upon you ,I believe most of what you wrote were true .Anwar was /is and will be power crazy .His death will put a full stop to it . He forgot who he was during his student days , when he was an MP , deputy Prime Minister , his friends in the west and now his ardent supporters from Hindraf . One day his Hindraf supportrs will get rid of him because he could not deliver their tantamount demands .
Now Charlie and Tok Janggut are championing the abolishment of ISA . Why are you two afraid of ISA ? Do you have hidden agenda together with Anwar . How many more demonstrations you intend to have until Anwar achieved his premiership ? ISA is considered an important tool to safe-guard a timid man like me . ISA will not hinder the progress of our country .It had been there for the past 50 years , yet our country progress and prosper . Anwar was against ISA and University Act during his student days but when he was Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia he did nothing to abolish them . These acts brought more good than harm to the country .Just look around and think what Anwar had done to the progress and economy of the country . He kept on telling the world that the he will be taking over the government . Foreign investors never enter the stock market because they want to wait and see . He had done a lot of damage to the country .
If ISA is abolished , I think there will be chaos and havoc in the country . Anwar’s godson Hindraf will be more agressive and creat more stories about ethnic clensing of the Hindus , the burning of temples ,bringing down of Hindu homes and so on. They went to the extent of bluffing their stories to the whole world . These bluffs are confirmed by the Bar Council . Before they went overboard I hope they ponder a little so that they didn’t offend the Muslim majority . In India they can do that because they are the majority but here in Malaysia the Malays will listen to their guardians : the Sultans . So please don’t threaten the national security and further more offend the Agong and the sultans.
I hope Charlie and Tok Janggut read Maysian History , Sejarah Melayu , Hang Tuah , Merong Mahawangsa ,etc.Have a better idea about Malacca Sultanate ,Semenanjung Tanah Malayu ,Tanah Melayu , Malaysia . Sometimes peoples voice their ideas through actions . They throw sticks and stones at innocent passers by , and burn houses and loot shops .Are these justice being practiced by the followers of Anwar and Hindraf ? You abolish ISA and bring more aggressive actions out of the animal souls of people who opposed to ISA. So please PKR and PR , win the 13th National Election through peaceful means and abolish ISA ,if you dare !

Apabila membaca teks ucapan setiausaha DAP Selangor, alangkah indahnya jika dia dapat merasai keindahan Islam.. setelah mengakui kebenaran & keadilan ajaran Islam. Mudah2an ramai yg terbuka hati utk menerima Islam, agama yg benar, suci, adil, indah, tenang, damai & segala2 yg terbaik itu hanyalah drpd Allah. Dan utk para muslim, let’s make Islam as our way of life. Tidak akan ada penyesalan di dunia & akhirat.

Apa yang boleh dikatakan lagi… Semua berbeza pendapat.

hi doc. i would like to chip in regarding comments on laws by some of the guys here. it seems that so simple that they compared GOD’s laws and the people’s laws. yes, it’s the ultimate if we can do it here in malaysia. but…we have to face reality. looking back at our history, we didn’t get our independence alone. there were consensus and compromise and we should make the best of it. it is easier said than done but we have to try. it is normal for us to find a scapegoat, if something is not working, to our own benefit, then demonize it. that is not the solution! if syariah can be accepted by all, then find a way to do it rather than manipulate it as what being done now….by our politicians, whether pas, pkr or umno.

it is not the case of ‘berani’ or not to do what being done by our southern neighbor. i spent a stint in singapore when i was with a japanese firm. everything is being monitored over there, even if you want to shit, don’t take this literally! it is just you have to take whatever being force to you. it is the law! so they relief themselves whenever they cross over to jb. i believe they are even uglier than us malaysian!

ISA is just a tool of the system. it is the people who corrupted the system. don’t dump it!

Biarkan lah rakyat Malaysia memilih sendiri.
