When I was informed that more less than 79 MPs from Barisan are going for a retreat, all I did was laughing in the car along me driving back home. If, If the retreat was arranged for the purpose of avoiding these so-called “golden MPs” from joining Anwar this upcoming 16 September, pathetically speaking, BN should be shamed for themselves.
Looks like the BN government itself is not really sure if there are MPs wanted to join Anwar basically. And BN was induced by Anwar’s political play. Going for retreat to study for agriculturalistic? Shall we rely on these 79 MPs, to study about agricultural merely because we based on this type of economic sector? Are these MPs going to prepare a report and each of them are required to report on what banana or paddy may consume during summertime? And since when MPs are required to mobilize their major into this kind of thing? Have we run out of agro scientist or what?
BN should have learn from the past. Enough is enough. We have to end this dumbshit and should we become smarter after what have we undergone in the past general election. This kind of political fiasco only offers for some hillarious and negative perception from the people. They are watching on what you do, how smart you are in reacting with the surroundings. If this keep on continue, I can ensure that BN will lose even bigger in the next general election.
That is why history always relevant. Should we look for history everytime we facing the future since history will guide us and teach us walking on the sidepath without having doubt, history is usefull to avoid us from repeating silly things. Which in this case, the Barisan is still in a state of denial, and failed to compromise with this meaningful guidance – history. When these MPs come back, will be there a barrier to stop them from joining Anwar if they already intended to do so presently? For how long BN have to tie them up?
Anwar confidently assures that the 16 September government’s plan is still on track. I dare him to fulfill his words. If he fails, we already know what are the excuses as Anwar has an explaination for everything! “Sabotaj sana..sabotaj sini..konspirasi sana konspirasi sini..”
I must say that, this fantasy government could not be intepreted into reality. Its not that easy when you bribe people and expect them to follow you, as you may count yourself in power is not strong enough to sustain these corrupted MPs as they also can be bribed easily whenever money is always there for them, do they really care of who may become their boss? No. All they care is money, forget about changes they fight for. Its rubbish. There are many legal and technical factor obstructing to this attempt. The motion itself must go beyond the speaker’s table. The arising conflict in the Pakatan itself reflects whether consensus between the three major party namely PKR, DAP and PAS has been achieved or still on blind papers..
With all due respect, by virtue of the constitution, respect the law and rules abiding to it. This “back-door” government will kill the spirit of constitution in a sense that our democracy is being “sodomised” by those ambitious politicians. We should focus on the ongoing progress of this country and to politicians, please stop playing anything with regards to any “back” thing. Its not good for your health.

Dear Dr,
You have very clear minds about this.. I totally agree with your statements.
It takes a long time to build Malaysia Boleh!, but it takes only a moment to destroy a thing.
Awaiting for PRU13
Doc,
I waited for your comments for last couple of days .. and I must say I absolutely agree with you! Our govt is getting more and more ridiculous by day pulling a stunt like that ..
macam main pondok2 jer! (those kids stuff we play during our younger days). Seriously, where did they put their brains .. in the museum ?? Seems to me that Pak Lah is making way for that psycho to rule in no time.
I love my country very much and everyday when I walk pass Museum Telekom I see these huge banners telling the history of those who had gone to fight for our independence .. and I’m proud and feel lucky to be born as a Malaysian.
Assalamualaikum Dr.
Should we change the people mentality towards politician since most (not all) of our politician are useless, corrupted, abusive etc.? I have this attitude towards politician that most of my politacally incorrect friends hate, which is “they have to be afraid of the people, they have to respect people and finally they have to serve the people”. Currently, it seems that it is the other way around. We have the power, even though it’s only every aproximately five years, just imagine if we do not elect them back in power due to those guys (politician) are useless, corrupted or might as well put it this way, bloody damn stupid except for fattening their own pocket, they will not survived their current way of lavishly living with normal nine to five jobs. They are not like us the people, we are used to moderate kind of living, politician are not, without “kopi” money, they can’t survived with their own salary and allowances. This apply to all politician, BN and PKR. Just be like Sabahan, if the ruling party are not good enough in doing their works, next election, vote for the guy next to him, and so on. I know it may be a bit ridiculous, but, if we keep doing what we are doing now, the politician will win, they will abuse whatever power they have and we still be the majority that suffer…… vote anybody you wish, it is your right, but, please, not anwar ibrahim ….
Cicit Dang Rombeh, indeed we would love to have this kind of way in electing the government. but there are merit and disadvantages since we will have a unstable government. 70% of our FDI influenced by our political stability. if we keep on changing the government, our economics will be affected as well. so to inculcate the minds of the people to change the government oftenly may not be good for our future generations. unlike the united states, although the government changes, their political style are based on one race and religion. but as for us, living in a multiracial and multireligious country, may not be suitable at all. we have to do the soul searching first.. come on la politicians. think for the sake of this country and people, not your personal ambition!
Dr.,
Yes I do agree with you, but something must be done to change the mindset of somebody, if politician can look at politic as a job, with approximately 26 Million bosses looking at your every move, thing should be better. If they can’t, then maybe we should ……….some how or rather, the current situation has to stop. Our economics are dying anyway……
Hi Doc
Just wondering whether you are aware of what BN did when PBS won Sabah. PBS MP’s were wooed by BN to do a “KATAK”, and evenutally PBS lost most of its MP’s and also lost the state by default.
SO WHY WAS IT ALRIGHT FOR UMNO-BN to encourage PBS MP’s to jump and NOT alright for DSAI to suggest it now? We cannot be changing the rules of the game to fit us.
What should be done, is to remove the ruling that states that if a person resigns his/her seat, he/she should be able to contest that seat again. Right now a very bad amendment to the Constitution prevents the ex-MP from running for the same seat for 5 years.
Either call for another GE or ask MP’s who want to move/jump ship to call for a by-election.
By the way, I remember my ADUN a long time ago was an independent. MCA offerred him a lot of carrots, and he did a “Katak” and became an MCA member. He lost the next elections.
The RAKYAT will remember.
ERRATA:
What should be done is to remove the very bad amendment to the constitution that prohibits an MP who resigns from running for the same seat for 5 years? This will enable the MP to go back to the electorate and seek their concurrence whether he should/should not jump ship.
BN is sick. UMNO Baru has a cancer. Issue is whether the cancer is in Stage One or Stage Four?
I long for the STATESMEN who used to run UMNO, before it was destroyed in the 80’s.
the thing is anwar has got no choice..the backdoor is the only door now..otherwise it’ll be a door to a jail cell in sg. buloh..and if he don’t do it PR will never have a chance also, given another 4 years to the next election BN will take their time to slowly decimate them..just look at the 3 PKR guys from perak being “caught” for “corruption”..its the beginning of a very dirty campaign..
if anwar doesnt use the backdoor now by the time PRU13 come probably guan eng, hadi awang, karpal n anwar himself is all in jail or ISA already..its not personal ambition anymore..its a matter of live and death..
Sidiq, to me, ur statment upon alleging Anwar for bribery in order to fulfill his ambition, i consider it as ur own view only. Hence, it is bad when ur view upon Anwar intentionally mala fide.
Regarding ur statement;
“With all due respect, by virtue of the constitution, respect the law and rules abiding to it. This “back-door” government will kill the spirit of constitution in a sense that our democracy is being “sodomised” by those ambitious politicians.”
I do not agree with that. Did you forget what is happened in 1979, in the case of stephen kalong nikan. In the case of proclamation emergency in Kelantan. It is clear that if the members of state or parliament loss their confident towards governer or PM and the dewan shall be dissolve.
U preview back the history. UMNO b4 then had also ‘laso’(pull) the members of state(in kelantan) to joining UMNO and PAS lost his control to govern Kelantan b4 get it back in 1984 and remain in till now under Tuan Guru Hj Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.
So the isue that our holly constitution had been sodomized or violated is not relevant. I do remember Augostine Paul said Irrelevent2 so many times upon Anwar defence counsels.
If SEPT 16 is not reached, Sept 20 will be the better date because in 1998, that was the day that the REFORMASI movement was borned. It will be more significant.
BN MPs can go for their trip and come back to a new GOVT. Dirty UMNO tactics.
Crossover for the beterment of Malaysia is not unethical and irresponsinble. Malaysians expect the MPs to make the right decision and this seems to be the best for now!
Rosisck Mugabe,
I have to agree with you that BN previously had already practiced this dirty ways of taking over the government throughout the “back-door”.
But nevertheless, I condemned BN for this and for sure I am not a party to support this kind of power taking.
This is a total violation of democracy.
dear dr and fellow bloggers,
i don’t know what to think nowadays because the RAKYAT is ignorant and blindsided by DSAI. They’ve even become fanatics about him. i’m not saying that i’m a hater but honest to GOD i really hate his guts. i’m no pro-gov’t either coz i don’t see our current leader being the stern and progressive as our previous leader. with that being said, i’m afraid that the day MIGHT come where anwar will eventually become the PM. i’m not going to dig up sum facts but this is what i see in the eyes of the RAKYAT now. However, if this should happen, i can’t see myself living in a country where our honorable leader sodomizes people. i’m sorry but the leaders in Malaysia is so messed up that “wishing upon a star” might be the best option to do now for a better malaysia…
What to expect? They are all Politician.
Whatever they do, they will think about personal benefit first.
If not, why in the first place do you think most of them become a politician?.
It’s been said that if you join politic without having ‘personal ambition’ or naively ‘only to help people’, you’ll end up becoming a ‘first class Balaci’. It’s proven over time.
However, 16 September still have the good side.
It uncovers many our politician true colors.
1. Pakatan Rakyat greeds and unethical ways to seize power.
2. BN/UMNO inability to handle crisis. Thus end up doing stupid things and increased people’s hatred towards them.
Now it’s time for us rakyat to decide. Which way we want to go?.
the fact: the current government is not relevant anymore. Changes are needed. Back-door or not is not the question and asking MP’s to jump into PR is not a dirty style as the MP’s are the Rakyat’s choice. They must do something in order to pay back the believes that the voters gave them. Changing side for a better future is not a dirty step to be taken! (“,)
The fact is now that the current government is not relevant anymore to rule our beloved country. A change is needed!
The question of ‘back-door’ or not it is just a style, tool, medium, or whatever the call it- this action however will give a new breath for Malaysia.
Jump side = Dirty style, sodomize the democracy. For me, the MP’s are our choice as we (rakyat) had ‘pangkah’ them to be our representative at the federal level. Despite how corrupted they are(just some of them kot), they have a big obligation to act as a representative of the ‘rakyat’, they must act for the sake of ‘rakyat’. Jumping side is an appropriate action if it can lead us to a better future.
Hububulhaq, affimative. Do not be foll by media, surat khabar perdana by stated that Anwar violated Malaysian by using bribery to influenced Bn MPs.
The reality is, nowadays media perdana intentionally had choose to violated malaysian by published mala-fide news.
So, dr sidek is the one who succesfully influenced by todays current media perdana.
I saw most of his writing is merely based on our current media perdana.
For example, why Anwar cannot become PM(his article). His writing is totally influenced by media.
Dr.Sid is very good in political reading!
