The country that we’re building will be the country we’re destroying if we don’t unite

Where Are We Heading To, Malaysian?

I hate it when people call me racist. As I always promote unity for the sake of this country, especially when we are facing the outsiders from another country. we have to remain as a team, we have to trust each other, and love each other. that is my stand. despite the fact that the Malay are protected by law, lets set aside those sentiment and focus on how we can cooperate each other.

I am pleased to have response from all the readers recently on what they feel as a Malaysian. atleast they feel relief after expressing their voice and opinion, for a while. But sadly, from my point of view, after scrutinizing what they said, many of us including the Chinese, Malay and Indian are still on the hatred stake. I bring you one comment from my lawmppcampaign blog, stated

“I must say here, the admission to UiTM is more easier if we compare the requirements that imposed by the other universities.” You probably do not (or are pretending to not) realise there is an easier backdoor called the matriculation course for bumiputeras like yourself to be admitted to all public universities in Malaysia. You use the same backdoor at UiTM. It’s no easier, but still dead easy compared to what the non-Bumiputera have to go through. Truth be told, UiTM has not been established in the true spirit of intellectual pursuit but racial segregation. Same with the New Economy Policy and every other racist policy Malaysia has spawned. To uplift literacy and economic status, all we need is a fair policy that gives the assistance only to those who need it, regardless of ethnic background, skin colour, and religious belief. Malay or not, bumiputera or not, these do not even come into the equation until you start being racist. The same goes for education. A quota system should not have existed in the first place if education was the true agenda. The fact that it exists tells a thing or two about the true intention of UiTM (and all public universities and government policies for that matter)

Cant you understand why are the students got damnly pissed off when this issue be brought to their attention? first, it came from a Malay leader, Khalid Ibrahim, who was benefited from the essence of article 153, former PNB chairman for almost 15 years, his words can be regarded as a disloyal statement to the Malay. Khalid, who fought for the Malay’s rights in the past days, suddenly becoming too offensive and hurts our feeling as a student of UiTM, just to prospering his political milage. How do you expect us to accept this?

Our sentiment feelings grew even bigger. I attended one forum conducted by GPMS Malaysia in Intekma resort last Thursday, entitled “Air mata darah bercampur keringat, bumi dipijak milik orang.” , urging us to struggle in our acedemic is something vital to be pushed on. besides that, we are being nurtured to defend our rights and will continue to protect UiTM. I cant blame GPMS for hosting such forum since it was done with bonafide (good faith), without any intention to create any racial disharmony. But if we examine deeply, on the benefits that could be seized by the students, is too obscene to be disclosed here. despite the fact that the forum was intended to waken up the students on how important for us to defend our rights, I see this could add more harmness to our racial integretion.

Nevertheless, many of the chinese and indian people are “working” on the same thing too. I read several blogs, and after reading those hatred words, I just can only smile and ask, “when will we stop this racial disgust?” We keep on fighting in our very own house, and those people outside are just waiting the exact time for them to sneak into our place. I admire Tun Tan Siew Sin, the late MCA President, with regards to his spirit on nurturing the racial integretion among Malay and Chinese community.

If Tun Abdul Razak, Tun Tan Siew Sin and Tun Sambanthan are still alive, they will feel hopeless, as what they fought in the previous days became meaningless!

Of course one hates to be called a racist esp when it hits the right nerves! I for one do not think the qualities of UiTM graduates is something that can make you feel proud off. And this is perhaps the only university in the world that is for a single race. By the way, its only a suggestion and for selected courses, so why feel intimidated?

i don’t consider myself a racist, but collectively I just might. I mean, many people, individually, are able to tolerate any one else from the different races. But when it comes to the crucial bit when there is something that is being trigger based on my religion , more than my race, I will become defensive. I guess I am not the only one. I have many chinese, indian, mat salleh and my friends are of diverse ethinicity and I am proud to be their friends. This issue has been propagated for political milage, to attract non malay voters. If we, the common people, let these politicians , sway our good judgement, then Malaysia will be just like any other racist nation. How come we used to be the model of the multi racial nation? What is happening to our good ole Malaysian patrioticism. When you watch Lee Chong Wei fighting his heart and soul in Olympics, don’t you feel goosebumps in you? That, even if he is chinese, he kissed the flag on his chest? I am very sick of Malaysian politics now. Sadly it won’t change for awhile yet.

    Wasallam.
