BAR Council Make Annoyed

Recently a forum was conducted by BAR Council entitled “the social contract”, with panelist namely Dr Farish, Dr Puthucheary, Dr Kua and Thomas. While academic Dr Mavis Puthucheary and political scientist Dr Kua Kia Soong called it a piece of fiction, constitutional lawyer Tommy Thomas and political scientist Dr Farish Noor disagreed.

Regardless of whatever facts or opinions may emerged, the forum was conducted biasly. why do i say so? by looking at the panelist, there are no relevancy of discussing the “social contract”.

They should come out with veteren, who served this country for a very long time, with bullets of world war II are still inside their bloods. who are these young generations to determine whether there are social contract or not?

THE SOCIAL CONTRACT

I wonder on how much articles i ve posted to discuss about this. like i said before, theres no need to discuss about social contract. just let the country prosper it whilst the clock is ticking. the social contract exist without no uncertainty and doubt.

To discuss a social contract will only cause racial disharmony in this country. the BAR council should be more sensitive. your liberal thinking does not fit the majority citizens of this land. so be more careful in searching for popularity.

Somehow, such a forum is good, only at kedai kopi or BAR’s canteen. not to be made public like this. people who does not have a direct access will automatically assume that BAR is creating racial revolt just by reading the title of forum – the social contract.

Suppose the BAR council conducts a forum to build up racial bond, not to destroy it silently. by virtue of the federal constitution, BAR should really understand the law and suppose not to manipulate it.

UNDERSTANDING HISTORY

History needs to be underlined by all parties when we discuss about the social contract. we cannot simply compare this country to any other country we like, likewise by comparing the birds and bees. we should scrutinize the history first before asking or saying for something.

I suppose no history should be the “bed timestory” here since all of us know and knew the history very well! so whats next? covers up the history with new ideology proposed by the western?

Even a democracy country such as United States fails to meet the requirement of being a 100% democratic nation. So dont complicate yourself with democratic and the social contract.

ABOLISH SOCIAL CONTRACT AND THIS COUNTRY WILL BE A BETTER ONE?

Well frankly speaking, i will say yes. BUT, the yes means in term of country’s development, our open economics, and our competitive values will be acknowledged by the world.

But all achievements above does not even favouring the Bumis. the Malays still relying to article 153 of the constitution. thats why i agree if these special privilages is to be taken from the Malays slowly and slowly, this will provides some times for the Malays to build up their very own strength.

For a kick start, we have saw on what Tun M did by withdrawing the Universities quota and replacing it with meritocracy. so why bother about the social contract very often? i mean the Malays are still needs to be helped out, in the mean time other races are competitive enough by now.

DO NOT PANIC AS IF TOMORROW IS THE JUDGMENT DAY. WE HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO.
